Helping businesses ensure they have the right processes and paperwork in place to protect their invoices, equipment and to give them peace of mind is part of what I do on a daily basis.
Just yesterday I helped yet another business protect their equipment and their invoices. Pete invested in a chattel lease, PPS Registrations, legally binding terms of trade and a sub-contract appendix. I also helped him put a plan in place to ensure he gets the best out of our services.
I am still sometimes taken back at how many businesses are still not aware of what the PPSA (Personal Property Security Act) is and how it works, how important it is to be not only utilising the register but to also be aware of how the legislation helps to secure assets, enables them to be a secured creditor and protects them from preferential payment clawback should any of their debtors go into liquidation.
Educating businesses on the PPSA is something I do on a daily basis, someone has to do it.
